Busy Stitchers Inspired by Fungi

Over 30 new stitchworks of Welsh fungi have been made for Wales Fungus Day on 12th October 2014.
They've been created by members of the Stitching B group which is run by Marilyn Caruana and is based at the Botanic Garden. Here they will be shown as part of the fungi exhibition, From Another Kingdom.
The range of fungi species is astonishing, looking way beyond the conventional view of a mushroom. So beyond the fly agaric, you'll find ballerina waxcap, branched coral, ergot and split-gill fungus.
I'll post a full listing when all entrants are in. These illustrations are by Brenda Caldicott, Millie Thomas and Alison Howells.
