Bird's nest fungus Crucibulum leave -listed in some books as uncommon but they are so small that they would probably be overlooked. These were found on chippings , on the right hand side of the walkway from the entrance to NBGW at the side of the lake and just before the fountain.
Very nice Peter --- on woodchip in Pembrey country Park past ferw years but not passed along this path yet this year. Should spread and be seen each year (spread 'eggs' around!!)
ReplyDeleteOur mycologically knowledgeable gardener Tudor spotted these a couple of weeks ago - I didn't! A few of them have now made it onto our family activities nature table this week in the Great Glasshouse.
ReplyDeleteNice one Peter, I hope they will still be around next Tuesday.
