Today in Castle Woods, Dinefwr Park, we found this poor dead tree (possibly oak) with honey fungus fruiting along well over 10 feet of its trunk. Thought a video might convey how amazing it looked.
Splendid ---- good to see extent of fruiting bodies. One observation I have is that, although Honeyfungus must be everywhere seeing the number of trees with 'bootlaces', the fruiting is not as abundant. As with this year which has been relatively dry, I have noted this 'fruiting' in abundance after a hot/dry summer.
Funny you should say that but yesterday I was by the Upper Lleidi reservoir and there must have been at least 50 birch trees with honey fungus on them. It was absolutely everywhere.
